Cemex have appealed against the refusal of the planning applications to extend the operation hours of the Wickwar Quarry.
The Quarry Appeal process is under way. There are several different types of planning appeal. The one that has been chosen by Cemex and S.Glos Council is a “Hearing”.

The Alexander Hosea School PTA has come up with something special for you to get your teeth into next month – a night in the company of nationally and internationally-acclaimed northern band ‘Munch!’
As many of our regular party-goers know, we have enjoyed some great nights down the years in our efforts to raise funds for the school, with a wide array of weird and whacky themes. But this event looks like being something else!

Just recently I have been ‘digging around’ for some interesting facts about our area. It appears that quarries are on the agenda quite frequently. Many interesting things are found in quarries and they are very often undisturbed havens for wildlife, especially birds.
But this is about dinosaurs. The Bristol Dinosaur. Thecodontosaurus Antiquus.
