Baby and Toddler Group

Who can come?

Any small children or babies accompanied by their parents or carer.

Where is it?

We meet at the Village Hall, Wickwar.

When?

During term time we meet on Tuesday and Friday mornings. Some sessions run during the school holidays, opening days for these are displayed on the notice board, within “toddlers”.

What happens at a toddler session?

We have a play leader who opens the room and sets up the equipment and toys, ready for people to start arriving from 9.30. Usually there is a baby corner with soft mats, small toys and baby gyms, an area for ride on toys, and a general play area.

At around 10.15 its biscuit time, along with juice for the children and tea or coffee for the grown ups.

After this is cleared up, the children have an opportunity to do some craft, we regularly make cards for special events, paint, decorate cakes, do collages or generally make a mess.

The session usually closes with a song time giving the children a chance to practice their musical talents.

At 11.30 it’s home time.

How much is it?

Adults £1, Children 70p each, under 6 months are free.

What else should I know?

“Toddlers” run special events throughout the year, such as the Christmas party and a Summer picnic, for the children to have fun at.

“Toddlers” also run several fundraising events. Usually this includes As new sales twice a year (March and September), Shopping evenings (pre Christmas and Spring), and the garden party (early summer). This enables us to keep fees down and pay a brilliant playleader.

Special events and fundraisers are organised by the “Toddler committee”, the current chair of the committee, Jo, would be happy to hear from anyone who would like to know more about toddlers.

Who can I talk to find out more?
